"Artists from Havana exhibition"



"Artists from HAVANA exhibition" is held from the 4th of October to the 29th. You can appreciate different techniques of art works from 7 Cuban artists who are playing part in important activities in the Cuban contemporary art scene. These art works reflect Cuban social background and afro-cuban culture after the Cuban revolution.

As artists of the 1st generation from the Cuban revolution, Nelson Dominguez, Manuel Mendive and Eduardo Roca(Choco)'s works in oil paintings and engravings, as well as, artists of the 2nd generation, Sandra Ramos, Abel Barroso, Julio Cesar Pena and Yendris Patterson's works in engravings, oil paintings and 3rd.dimentional works are exposed.

■About the artist
Nelson Dominguez

1947 Born in Baire, Santiago de Cuba, September 23
1970 Studied at the Cubanacan National Art School
1970-85 Professor in the Cubanacan National Art School, Professor and head of thePainting Department of the College of Arts (ISA) and faculty member of its Engraving Department, Member of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and of the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP).
Was presented with the National Cultural award and the Alejo Carpentier award.


Eduardo Roca "Choco"

1997-2002 Licenciado en la Facultad de Bellas Artes por el Instituto Superior Pedago´gico Enrique Jose´ Varona. Ciudad de La Habana. CUBA
2003-2007 Cursos de Postgrado de restauracio´n de pintura mural, pintura de caballete, madera, piedra y metales por la “UNESCO” (CENCREM). CUBA.
